The Bell

Waltham St Lawrence

Classic half-timbered 15th-century pub bequeathed to the village in 1608 by Sir Ralph Newbury and identified by CAMRA as having a regionally important historic pub interior. Well worth seeking out, it serves as the village local, promoting real ales from small, independent breweries, while offering exceptionally good food from fresh, seasonal ingredients. Up to eight ciders and perries are served from the cellar. You will find log fires in the winter and a good-sized beer garden for sunny summer days.

Our Drinks

We are surrounded by amazing independant breweries, and Cask Ale is at the heart of what we do. Our house bitter is Loddon Hoppit, with four constantly changing beers on the other pumps. We also sell a range of Real Ciders, served directly from the cellar, and lagers from Rothaus and Oechsner breweries in Germany.

We are particularly proud of our Wine List, with over 30 wines available by the glass. The wines change frequently, and we are always keen to list minimal intervention, organic, or biodynamic wines where possible. Many of the wines are vegetarian and vegan friendly.
